Hi Peter, Just been looking over your page.
Really impressive. And wow I'm well jealous of your site and antenna system.
I really enjoyed listening to your DX recordings, real history of the 6 Metre Band, awesome.
Please check out my blog if you have time, and my flea power qrp setup.
Hey thinking aloud what happened to the damaged 6M7JHV antenna did you scrap it? (Scrounge mode engaged)
:o
I agree with your comments about the beacon moves etc. I am now totally unsure where to operate on CW.
If I call CQ on the new 050 Centre of activity I dont hear any replies.
When I call around 090 I manage to work stations.
Which in my eyes means they are not listening lower down.

I see you are very passionate about 6mtrs and I think the bug has definitely bitten you haha, thank you for sharing your hobby with us, and if you still have that pile of broken metal kicking around, hmm maybe consider the GØNMY New antenna project
Cheers Peter, 73 es good DX.
Mark

Greetings, Peter - I seem to spend a lot of time lately chasing you about between 50.080 - 50.110 picking up various Eu stations, with the occasional DX from Africa. Interestingly, I never actually hear you (though I sometimes hear the stations you are working) - probably down to the fact that my QTH is at the bottom of a bucket surrounded by tall trees and a quarry on the outskirts of Bideford. My antenna is only a Hexbeam (6 -20) up at a humble 10 mtrs so I don't have high expectations. I would love a decent pre-amp to help out on receive ...... In the meantime - who knows - we may hook up one day. Keep up the fantastic work on 6m. It is an inspiration to me!

Admin reply: Hi Tony, Thanks for the kind words - it shouldn't be that difficult to work:) I am usually on for the RSGB Tuesday night activity contests - will look out for you. 73 Peter

Good to hear from you.

Saw your EME contact with W7JW on 50.193 2013-09-19 03:28.
Cool contact there! Oh, thanks for all the info and the link to UKSMG on your site. Lots to learn about EME. Have yet to make contacts to Europe myself but I keep trying :o
I probably don't have the right antenna for it.

Admin reply: Hi Shawn, thanks for visiting. 600w and a 6 or 7ele will get you some EME QSOs on 6m - but the main issue is the RX side - good feeder, a good RX and low local noise are essential. Your first QSO will probably be Lance W7GJ - he has the best set-up. Practice by checking in to ON4KST EME chat to see who is on then see if you can decode them - all you need is WSJT and a link from your RX audio. Hope to work you off the moon one day (and of course on Es next season. 73 Peter

Admin reply: Hi Ran, Congratulations on your FB 6m station and thanks for the EME QSO - it really was a delight to have such an "easy" EME QSO after problems before. Thanks also for the new DXCC on 6m. I hope to work you on F2 or Sporadic E one day (I have heard you very weak)73 Peter
