Hawaii
15th Another 50MHz EME Initial on Q65 with Bob ZL1RS in Tonga as

8th Nice to add 4 countries to my 2026 50MHz tally tonight: SV9
(Crete), 5H-5I (Tanzania), CE (Chile) and ZA (Albania) taking my total
for ytd to 101. Made 100 by 1st June in 2025;-)
22nd Annual country count now up to 117 but condx very weird here -
still not worked JA HL or BY but several BV (Taiwan) stations worked.
All good fun.
26th Late on the 50MHz band this morning - screen was full of JA
(Japan), HL (Korea) and BY (China) - stayed that way until late morning.
Worked many in each country and heard in VK4 Queensland) but no QSO.
Later worked PZ5RA (Surinam) amid many N American and Carib stations.
Then 16:40z copied half a dozen or so CQs from KL7HBK
(Alaska) but no QSO .
Highlight of the day was working BG9TX (China) in NM87 for new
Field #150 and Grid
#1548.
Total countries worked so far in 2026 now up to 124 DXCC.
 27th
Left RX on overnight screen reveals opening to JA from 01:30!!.
Early start - signs of VK into E Europe but band dead here. 05:20z
Graham VK3 GA Melbourne -14 and in the log. VK5PO also heard but not
worked. Off for a swim - came back to see DV6YDG had been in. Band open
all day - China and N America simultaneously.
Late afternoon random EU stations working KL7HBK on 50.323MHz. Per
yesterday nothing here until
 precisely
16I40z when there he was John KL7HBK Alaska worked for a new terrestrial
DXCC.
Band remained open to N America Central / West until around 19:30z. 126
DXCC this year and 5 new squares today taking total to 1553.
28th Out at Cornish Radio Rally, Truro. Band good all day but not
"special" A late afternoon CQ to then West brought Juan TG9AJR in
Guatemala - big surprise for both of us. Late / strong opening to KL7
just ended 20|:z |
